BURRA MULTI-WAYS LEARNING SPACE

AUSTRALIAN MUSEUM

The Project | Set in the heart of Gadigal land at the Australian Museum in Sydney, the concept for ‘Burra’ was to create a learning experience based on First Nations knowledges combined with Western Science, where visitors can learn the importance of caring for Country and each other.

Our Role | Studio Cassells and Story Inc carried out Masterplanning, Concept and Development (Environment, exhibit, graphics and multimedia), Detailed Design and Design input throughout fabrication, multimedia production and installation.

Accessible and multisensory

Informed by an expert accessibility panel, the learning experiences were designed to be multisensory, catering to a wide variety of learning styles and for visitors with autism- welcoming visitors to comfortably explore, play, touch, watch and listen to Country.

 
 

Designed for a curious audience

The gallery is catered for children aged 0-14 to learn about the environment and the importance of taking care of it through fun and interactive experiences.
